We Care

OUR SOCIAL COMMITMENT

The wellbeing of our employees and local communities in which we operate is of utmost importance to us. We are committed to align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and have invested in the local communities providing people with employment and a source of income and thus decreasing the poverty levels in those areas and promoting economic growth. We also provide full employment and decent work with equal pay and through our strict auditing process ensure no forced labour, modern slavery or child labour is used at any of the facilities that manufacture our products. Our company also promotes diversity and equal opportunity, women in leadership and equal remuneration for women and men. We provide an inclusive environment for employees from all cultural and social backgrounds.

OUR BUSINESS

Sustainably Sourced Materials

We are proud to source many of our products & packaging from FSC certified suppliers. The Forest Stewardship Council A. C. is an international non-profit, multistakeholder organization established in 1993 that promotes responsible management of the world's forests via timber certification.

Recycling Symbols

We know finding the correct disposal route for packaging can sometimes be a daunting task, so our products now include recycling symbols for 4 countries (DE, FR, IT and UK), with several more to follow. This aims to help our international customers make the correct decision when disposing of packaging and promote recycling, by providing detailed information about the materials used and their correct disposal.

Our German customers can find out more about how to correctly recycle here: https://www.muelltrennung-wirkt.de/de/

EBPC Membership

We are members of the European Party & Balloon Council (EBPC). The primary objective of the EBPC is to assist members in understanding the broad range of safety and environmental issues in the balloon and party industry. We are members of both the executive and the technical committees and involved in several project groups and campaigns. One such campaign was launched in 2020 and aims to educate consumers about the proper disposal of latex and foil balloons and reinforce the fact that the industry does not support balloon releases. As part of the campaign, we have introduced EBPC’s “Don't let go” symbol on all our foil and latex packaging.

Social Responsibilities

We are members of Amfori, the Sustainable Platform, that helps us identify, verify, and mitigate social and environmental risks in our supply chain. Solutions that enable us to monitor and improve working conditions of people across our supply chain.

OUR PRODUCTS

Costumes

We’ve significantly reduced our use of plastic packaging by removing garment shrouds and eliminating unnecessary plastic bags for accessories. We're currently in the process of reworking our packaging and introducing an alternative that uses recycled plastic content — up to 40% — to reduce reliance on virgin plastic.

To cut down development waste, we've reduced sampling waste by 25% compared to last year, thanks to our transition to 3D design tools, and we're continuing to build on that progress. Our sustainable costume range, launched for Halloween 2020, has grown to include licensed and Book Week costumes made from 100% recycled polyester (exclusive of trims). All are fully machine washable and come in a recyclable cardboard box that includes a craft activity, helping to give the packaging a second life in a fun and creative way.

Foil & Latex

Our latex balloons are made from natural rubber latex, a renewable resource tapped from rubber trees. These trees can live for decades, and the harvesting process doesn’t harm them. While latex is biodegradable under the right conditions, please note that balloons can still take time to break down and should never be released outdoors, as they can pose a risk to wildlife and the environment. We encourage responsible use and disposal — and we’re constantly exploring more sustainable alternatives.

Our foil balloons are designed to be reused, thanks to a built-in self-sealing valve that allows for easy inflation and reinflation — up to 4–5 times with proper care. While they are not biodegradable, reusing them helps reduce waste and makes them a more conscious choice for multiple occasions.

And not to mention, we prioritize air-filled balloons over helium whenever possible — making them less likely to float away and end up as litter in natural spaces.

Party

We're actively redesigning many of our products and packaging to use more sustainable materials and reduce environmental impact. Over the past year, we’ve replaced many plastic items — including straws, table covers, cutlery, and balloon sticks — with alternatives made from paper or wood. Our paper plates now feature a coating made from natural, unmodified polymers sourced and produced locally in Europe — helping reduce transport distances and associated emissions. By sourcing closer to our warehouses, we’ve been able to significantly reduce transportation-related carbon emissions. We're continuing to refine this data and expand this effort across more product categories.

We're also designing products with reuse and repurposing in mind, in line with our “Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle” approach. For example, some of our packaging now doubles as crafts or storage — extending its useful life beyond the first use. Many product lines are also shifting from plastic to recyclable paper packaging.
